Features and Applications
317L (00Cr19Ni13Mo3, UNS S31726) alloy is a molybdenum-based austenitic stainless steel. Compared to conventional chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steel such as 304 alloy, it offers superior chemical corrosion resistance. The 317L alloy provides higher ductility, stress corrosion resistance, compressive strength, and high-temperature performance compared to conventional stainless steels. As a low-carbon grade, it resists sensitization effects during welding and heat treatment processes.
Applications
Compared to 316L, 317L steel offers excellent water resistance and stress corrosion cracking (SCC) resistance, making it suitable for chemical ships, chemical products, and chemical equipment requiring high corrosion resistance such as reactors.
